  • 1Remember the names of at least three ribbon tabs in MS-Publisher and recall one command from the Home tab
  • 2Show projector image of MS-Publisher interface with ribbon highlighted — learners shout out any button or tab names they recognise
  • IDENTIFYING RIBBON TABS AND THEIR COMMANDS IN MS-PUBLISHER
  • 1Display MS-Publisher on the projector; use a laptop to click on each ribbon tab (Home, Page Design, Mailings, Review, View) one by one — learners copy the name of each tab in their exercise books and write two commands they see under Home tab (e.g. Bold, Font Colour)
  • 2Learners open MS-Publisher on school laptops in pairs and locate the Home tab ribbon — one learner reads aloud three command names (e.g. Font, Paragraph, Styles) while the other writes them down
  • 3Call on one pair to name one command from the Page Design tab and explain what it might do — confirm their answer using the projector to show that Page Design controls layout and background
  • 1Computer/Laptop
  • 2Projector
  • 3Textbook
  • 4MS-Publisher software
  • 1Show a blank slide on the projector with five ribbon tabs labelled Home, Page Design, Mailings, Review, View — ask learners to point and whisper to their partner which tab would hold the Font command
  • 2One representative from each pair draws one ribbon tab name on the board and lists two commands under it from memory — whole class checks by looking at their textbooks
Exercise
  • 1Write the names of three ribbon tabs in MS-Publisher and one command that belongs in the Home tab in their exercise books.
