  • 1Identify the correct grip and posture for holding basic agricultural tools
  • 2Show learners a picture chart of a farmer holding a hoe incorrectly; ask: What is wrong with how Kwame is holding this tool?
  • HANDLING AND MAINTENANCE OF COMMON FARM TOOLS
  • 1Display the Science kit specimens and Chart/diagram showing three tools (hoe, cutlass, rake); learners name each tool and describe one use for each in a sentence written in exercise books
  • 2Demonstrate the correct grip, stance, and swing for a hoe using the physical specimen; learners copy the stance at their desks and a volunteer comes forward to mirror the demonstration. Use Textbook during the task.
  • 3Write on the board: daily cleaning, checking for cracks, storing in a dry place, sharpening blades; learners match each maintenance rule to one of the three tools using the textbook reference section
