Read aloud: Energy conservation means using less energy to do the same job. Ask: How does Ama save electricity by using a solar lantern instead of a kerosene lamp? Learners write one sentence in exercise books 2Use the Science kit/specimens to show a rechargeable battery and a disposable battery. Explain: A rechargeable battery conserves resources because we use it many times instead of throwing it away. Ask: Why is this better for Ghana's future? 3Pairs discuss: Name three ways your family conserves energy at home (turning off lights, using firewood instead of charcoal, solar water heaters). One representative from each pair shares one example with the class.
