  • 1Recall biblical and everyday examples of people responding to God's call with obedience and commitment
  • 2Ask learners: Who has ever been asked by a parent or elder to do something important? Show your hand. Invite three learners to name one thing they were asked to do and how they felt when they obeyed or did not obey
  • MORAL LESSONS FROM RESPONDING TO GOD'S CALL
  • 1Open the textbook to the passage on Abraham or Moses (or your chosen biblical figure). Read the story aloud together, then ask learners to listen for what the person did when God called them. Write on the chalkboard the three main actions Abraham took (left home, believed God, prepared to obey). Learners copy these into their exercise books and circle the word that shows what he did first
  • 2Using the exercise book, learners write one sentence answering: What did this person learn about obedience? Pair learners to compare their answers. Ask a volunteer to read their sentence aloud and explain why obedience is important when God calls us. Discuss as a class: How did this person show reverence (deep respect) for God's command? Write "reverence" on the board and underline it
  • 3Struggling learners may draw the story in three pictures instead of writing, labelling each picture with one moral lesson (obedience, trust, commitment).
  • 1Textbook (Bible passage on Abraham or Moses)
  • 2Exercise book
  • 3Chalkboard and chalk
  • 1Learners stand and form a circle. Go round the circle: each learner names one moral lesson they learned today (obedience, reverence, commitment, respect, or honouring promises). Clap after each answer
  • 2Show three scenarios on the chalkboard: (1) Ama's teacher asks her to help a younger learner; (2) Kwame's father asks him to farm but he wants to play football; (3) Akua promises to help her grandmother and keeps her promise. Ask: Which scenarios show the moral lessons we learned? Learners discuss in pairs and raise hands to answer
Exercise
  • 1Write in your exercise book: Name one person (real or from the Bible) who responded to God's call. Write two moral lessons that person showed (use words like obedience, reverence, commitment, respect, or honouring promises). Explain in two sentences why that lesson is important
