  • 1Recall the names of common presentation software and identify their basic purpose
  • 2Ask learners: What software have you seen used to show pictures and text on a big screen in your school assembly or at a community meeting? Learners whisper answers to their partner, then a volunteer shares one example aloud
  • UNDERSTANDING PRESENTATION SOFTWARE AND ITS BENEFITS
  • 1Write on the board: 'Presentation software is a tool that helps us create slides with text, pictures, and information to show to an audience.' Read this definition aloud while learners follow in their textbooks. Ask: Why do you think Ama might use this software to present her project about cocoa farming to the class instead of just reading from a paper sheet? Call on a learner who has not yet spoken to explain one reason
  • 2Show on the projector a simple comparison chart with two columns: 'Without Presentation Software' (showing a blank paper) and 'With Presentation Software' (showing a slide with text, images, and colour). Ask learners to work in pairs and identify two benefits they see in the second image. A representative from three different pairs shares their identified benefit aloud (e.g., 'It is colourful and easier to read'; 'The pictures help explain the idea'). Write each benefit on the board
  • 3Struggling learners: work with the teacher to identify just one benefit from the projected slide using a guiding question: 'Does the slide with pictures help you understand better than just words?'
  • 1Computer/Laptop
  • 2Projector
  • 3Textbook
  • 4Exercise books
  • 1Learners repeat chorally three times: 'Presentation software helps us share ideas with pictures, text, and colour.' Ask: What is one software name we learned today? Learners call out Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote together
  • 2Ask learners to show thumbs up if they now understand why presentation software is important, or thumbs down if they are still unsure. Affirm effort and preview: 'Tomorrow we will open Microsoft PowerPoint on the computer and create our first slide.'
Exercise
  • 1Name one software used for presentations and explain one benefit of using it instead of just reading from paper. Learners write their answer in one sentence in their exercise books
